This one is for you Mike S

So I was approached by one of my best buds the other day as to why I have a blog and put all of this out there into the world.  It took me a second, actually a day as to why I do what I do. Part of me wants to scream at the top of my lungs " I am more than what you see!"  What I mean by that is I have a million thoughts racing through my tiny brain all day. How I could be better, do more, do less, be a part of the problem, the solution, the idea or the destruction of one . So many characters I want to play and so little time to do it . I sure I could be diagnosed as having ADHD but what fun would that be?  Who wants to know the answers to yourself in medical terms?  First and foremost, I am a dad and a partner now. I do not move in a group of one and I can't think of just myself .
Believe me every once in a I remember when I was a single guy living off the land and scrounging for something warm to eat and wondering if I had time to do the laundry or get one more wear out of something . But writing and talking about my feeling does bring me back to those times. I am free to write whatever I want and whatever I am thinking . That is just enough for me nowadays . And when I say talk about my feeling I don't mean "my dad died and I never got to be in a rock band". What I do mean is I am getting older and wiser, hopefully, and this is what I see and feel. Believe me, the world doesn't need another person crying about their problems to the masses.
So I guess the only way to answer my friend on as to why I write what I write is it keeps me sane and in turn maybe the people around me. I am quick to pull the trigger with my words and every once in a while I find solace in writing them done instead of blabbing them to anyone that will listen. Writing this gives me a chance to reflect and allows someone else to check it out at there own pace . And on that note I am outta here. Until next time.......

On the Road to Recovery

Tibial Plateau Fracture
It has been a little bit since I have been able to write on this blog. I am recovering from a pretty severe broken leg that I got playing in hopefully my very last rugby game.  I am currently staying at my parents house because my residence has a claw bathtub that I can't get into and way too many steps. But hey, I am alive and I will recover from this. Maybe not financially, as I viewed part of my insurance claim, for the first three days it was sixty thousand dollars.  I have never even made sixty thousand in a year except that one time. So the money part of it I can't really even fathom. I stayed in the hospital for a total of 8 days
The truth is I am getting better every single day. I can now move my leg and do things I thought were impossible 7 days ago. I might not walk in the year 2011 but that doesn't mean I can't embrace this road to recovery. I am so thankful to have my family, my girlfriend, and a great group of friends supporting me through this. It was a very traumatic experience and when I think about the injury I get a little choked up . The though of hearing my leg crack into a bunch of pieces doesn't do a lot for one's self confidence.

The injury I sustained is called a tibial plateau fracture. Pretty much it means you shattered your leg right below the knee. It is an injury often seen in car vs pedestrian accidents   It has taken two plates and tens screws just to get my leg back to normal. I guess airport security is now going to be an ongoing issue. The folks at Enloe Hospital and UC Davis Hospital treated me great. I can't thank them enough for taking care of this old crabby baby.
Right now I got one leg but soon enough I will have two. So watch out world cause Cam Villa will be back .

Tupperware. Here one day and gone the next

It's sad to say but the second I put the Tupperware into the dishwasher their is a 95% chance that I will never ever be able to match the top to the bottom  . It just disappears. I don't know where, I don't know by whom, but it is gone . I used to have quite a collection of Tupperware. Gathered over the years from parties we have thrown  or leftovers delivered from Mom . I thought I had more control over my surrounding but when it comes to the plastice containers I am but a slave . I do not know what the future holds for me and Tupperware but I will keep attempting to hold on to it. My goal is to grow old with the original Tupperware I was raised on but I see that wish fading fast .

Every show on T.V. wants me to shed a tear

It's the god damn truth! Every show on the television wants me to break down and cry in sadness or glory. It doesn't matter to them. Just as long as my tears are flowing. Hopefully for show sponsors(there's "TheMan" again)the moment I start to cry it goes to commercial break and keeps me interested just long enough that I don't dare flip the channel. I am sure reality television shows hate commercials too but if they want Snooki to be able to loose enough weight for next season they have to keep her paid. POOR PEOPLE EAT MORE CARBS AND LESS PROTEIN. It's a fact.USDA research But back to my initial thoughts about T.V. making me shed tears.
I watch a little of everything. And what I mean by that is I try to watch as many beginning and ends of programs that I can. The best stuff happens in the first 11 minutes and in the last 6 minutes of a 1 hour show.  But turn to any prime time non-comedy show and chances are you better break out the box of Kleenex. The worst culprits are those Makeover Shows. Whether it's a house, school, boss, face, or body when that object gets a new coat of paint, tears will be shed. Throw a retard or disabled person in the mix and the chances of crying are double. Pop a down and out Mom in there and I may need to be hydrated before I watch the show . Mission accomplished. These shows enforce the fact that despite my low self-esteem and self-defeating personality , I am most definitely not the most pathetic person on the planet. And provided with the proper tools the person I originally thought was the most pathetic person in the world now has a new house, job, lease on life, or maybe even the chance to get laid.

Extreme Home Makeover
What does crying do? It makes us feel human again. But human enough to do what? To make a change, a correction, or maybe a difference. Hopefully for the show sponsors just enough to make you want to clean up your act and buy something.
